Selway fires late winner

MATCH REPORT

the stars produced a brilliant comeback performance to claim an exciting 3–2 away victory over Newport City, a result that lifts the Stars into the top half of the table.

FIRST HALF

The hosts opened the scoring through Ellis Sage, whose header put Newport in front, but Treowen responded superbly. Dylan John pulled things level before the break with a brillaint header after another gavin meacham assisit, his 7th of the season.

SECOND HALF

a scrappy second half swung newports way when they edged back in front with 19 minutes remaining thanks to a Cole Mace strikem, but the Stars refused to back down. Carter Campbell was quick to react to a goalkeeping error, slotting home the equaliser and swinging the momentum firmly in the stars favour.

With belief growing, the stars pushed on and were rewarded in style. Harvey Selway rounded off a brilliant team move with nine minutes to go, firing home the winner from close range to complete a fantastic turnaround.
