The Stars return to Bush Park on Saturday to take on an in-form Ammanford side, with the visitors firmly in the hunt for promotion to the jd Cymru Premier.
Ammanford are currently sit 3rd in the table with just three games remaining, following a hard-fought 0–0 draw with 2nd-placed Cambrian this week. With promotion within reach, they know that three wins from their remaining fixtures would secure their place, making this a must-win game for the visitors.
They have been particularly impressive defensively this season, losing just four league games and keeping 13 clean sheets, while Dan John leads the line as their top scorer with 14 goals.
The previous meetings between the sides have been closely contested. Back in August, Ammanford edged a tight encounter 1–0 thanks to a late Adam John winner. However, the Stars came out on top in January’s WBS Cup clash, progressing on penalties after Corey Jenkins’ second-half equaliser brought the sides level.
Treowen head into the game following a difficult run of fixtures but will be boosted by a welcome five-day break in the schedule. Back on home soil at Bush Park , where the Stars have not lost since October, the will be confident of testing one of the league’s strongest sides and will be aiming to pick up a big three points in their penultimate home game of the season.
