we return to action tomorrow night to face Afan Lido, aiming to make it three consecutive wins and climb as high as 7th in the table.
The Stars come into the fixture in excellent form, having won their last two matches, including a superb comeback victory on the road at newport city last time out. Confidence is building within the squad, though it’s been a demanding period, with this set to be our eighth game in 24 days. Despite tired legs, the boys remain full of belief and momentum.
Afan Lido sit 15th in the table and have endured a difficult season but they arrive in good form. The January appointments of Lee Surman and Lee John have sparked an upturn in results, with Lido winning three of their last five league games. Their most recent outing saw a convincing 4–1 win over Llantwit Major which highlights their growing threat.
Striker Liam Griffiths is a key figure, currently in red-hot form with five goals in his last five appearances, and will be one to watch.
The reverse fixture earlier in the season saw Treowen run out convincing 4–0 winners back in August with gavin meachams goal from inside his own half a stand out. in a bizarre quirk, that game, like tomorrow night’s clash, was also played at a neutral venue due to works being done at afan lidos home ground, meaning neither side has yet enjoyed true home advantage in this matchup. the
Afan Lido are one of the most established sides at this level, and they’ll provide a stern test. The Stars will need to match their physicality while continuing to show the quality and resilience that has driven our recent run of results.
With form, confidence, and a potential move up the table on the line, the stars will be fully focused on delivering another big performance.
