Stars Make Triple signing
Ahead of the new season the stars bolster their squad with 3 new additions
Following on from last seasons campaign in the Cymru South, the Stars have high aspirations for the 26/27 season in what looks like a very competitive Cymru South league. Manager ben Murphy has bolstered the squad with 3 strong signings to kick start our preparation.
First through the door was the signing of ex Merthyr Town, Llanelli and Cambrian united attacker, Tom Hillman. Tom is a player murphy has been after for a while and has finally secured his signing. Tom was a product of the Newport County youth system and made one appearance in the First team before departing. In His time at llanelli and Cambrian he racked up 38 g/a in 102 appearances, showcasing his attacking ability. We cannot wait to see him adding to those numbers in a stars shirt
Next was Ryan Wheeler. Ryan Is defensive minded player who is eaully comfortable in midfield or defence. Ryan has cymru south experience with risca united before moving on to Chepstow. He was at Chepstow in the 24/25 season when they were battling it out for the stars in the Ardal South East title race and he impressed in both games against the stars. Remarkably in that season he only missed 17 minutes of league action. Murphy tried to sign wheeler last summer but had to wait another 12 months to get his man and again had to fight off lots of competition from cymru south sides. Ryan will compliment our side exceptionally and is a brillaint addition for us
The final signing was young attacker Lloyd Oliver who also joined from Goytre. At 21 years of age lloyd has already has an impressive scoring record in the Ardal leagues, racking up 33 goals over the last 2 seasons aswell as contributing 14 assists. he stars cam close to sign Lloyd in jan 25 but have bided their time before adding him to the squad. His pace, workrate and ability in front of goal will be a big asset to us and we are looking forward to seeing develop into a very good striker.
